Three days of inspiring talks and discussions, hands-on demos, and meaningful connections at the IGAC–MANGO Workshop in Singapore!

From November 26–28, we joined leading scientists, policymakers, and industry partners to tackle air quality challenges in Monsoon Asia. The workshop addressed critical topics such as biomass burning, natural and human-made emissions, and air quality and health.

Our contributions included:

  • Talk by Matic Ivančič on high-time-resolution methods for carbonaceous aerosol apportionment
  • Showcasing the Aethalometer AE36s and its role in real-time black carbon monitoring

The workshop brought together the region’s most influential scientists from Thailand, Malaysia, Taiwan, Singapore, and beyond.

Key takeaways:

  • Black Carbon and Ultra Fine Particles are now front and center in Asian and global air quality standards.
  • Real-time, high-resolution measurement is driving new breakthroughs.
  • International partnerships are essential for tackling air pollution and shaping policy.

Special thanks to APAQ Group for their partnership and to the organizers IGAC-MANGO and NUS Environmental Research Institute (NERI) at the National University of Singapore for creating an inspiring platform for knowledge exchange. We look forward to continued cooperation and scientific progress in improving air quality across Southeast Asia.
