On July 11, 2023, the CEO of Aerosol Magee Scientific, Mateja Forštnarič, accepted the WIPO Global award on WIPO stage in Geneva, Switzerland.
This prestigious award is given out by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the global forum for intellectual property services, policy, information and cooperation. They are a self-funding agency of the United Nations, with 193 member states, and they exist since 1967.
The recipients of this award were chosen from 548 candidates from over 50 countries based on the criteria of successful commercialization of intellectual property and the company’s positive impact on the economy, society, or culture while considering its diversity and location.
A six-person jury chose Aerosol Magee Scientific as one of the most dynamic and innovative SMEs using innovation to change the world and intellectual property for business success.
During the awards ceremony, our CEO, Mateja Forštnarič shared some words to thank the WIPO.

We are very proud and honored to receive the WIPO Global Award. This award means a lot to us. It is a testament and recognition to Aerosol Magee Scientific team for all the efforts and work in the IP domain and commercializing the IP over the past years.

During the interview with the Editor of WIPO Magazine, Ms. Catherine Jewell, Mateja Forštnarič shared what the award means for Aerosol: “The WIPO Global Award is a testament and recognition to Aerosol Magee Scientific team, for all the efforts and work in IP domain over the past years. A customized IP mentorship program will be provided to Aerosol by WIPO, one of the advantages and benefits that the company will gain out of receiving the ‘WIPO Global Award’, and that will allow us to gain expert insights and advice on how to further commercialize our IP.
The ‘WIPO Global Award’ gives our company additional value, recognition, promotion, and visibility. It increases our brand image and brand awareness for our company and to our mission for raising awareness of Black Carbon and other carbonaceous aerosol and their negative effect on climate and human health so that leaders and policy makers can make better decisions for our future, limit the negative impact that black carbon has on human health and climate change and build sustainable economies.
In addition, the ‘WIPO Global Award’ is a great encouragement and motivation for us to keep doing the great things and we are very proud.”
